E36 High Downforce Splitter - The Final Test

After months of development, prototyping and data analysis, the moment finally arrived: it was time to put the new E36 High Downforce Splitter through its final test, a full track session at Circuit Zandvoort. Everything the part had been designed to do now had to prove itself on track, for real.
01 — THE BRIEFThe final test for the E36 development car
For this session we brought out our E36 development car, running an S54 engine, with one clear goal: extract the absolute maximum from the new splitter and see how fast an E36 can really go around Zandvoort. This wasn't an early prototype shakedown, it was the last box to tick before the part could go on sale, so we ran it hard.
02 — THE STEP UPComing from the GT Splitter
Coming off the original GT Splitter, the difference was immediate and substantial. Front-axle grip through medium and high-speed corners took a genuine leap: far more stability, far more confidence, and far more grip where the old splitter would start to give up. Much of that comes down to sheer scale, the High Downforce Splitter is three times larger than the GT unit, and that extra surface area translates directly into performance.

03 — THE FULL PACKAGEEndplates, tunnels and skidplates
To get a proper read on the design we ran the car with the complete package fitted, and each element did exactly its job:
- Endplates — kept the airflow attached at the splitter's outer edges, sharpening front-end response.
- Tunnels — accelerated air under the splitter to generate low pressure and pull the nose down.
- Skidplates — protected the leading edge and kept the aero surface consistent lap after lap.
Together they turned the splitter into a system rather than a single part, and the balance on track showed it, planted, predictable, and quick exactly where an E36 usually starts to wash wide.
04 — THE VERDICTDoing exactly what it's designed to do
By the end of the session the conclusion was simple: the splitter did precisely what it was designed to do. No compromises to chase, no weak points to redesign, just the front-end grip and high-speed stability we set out to build. With the final test passed, the E36 High Downforce Splitter is now available on our website.
