Due to a lot of requests we are also doing a small production run of our Short Shifter in black! 

The perfect Short Shifter is here! Designed to fit COMPLETELY under the dashboard and center console for a complete OEM+ look. On the E36 it requires no modification whatsoever, on the E46 only the little compartment box needs to be modified. Luckily this is an easily replaceable part and completely out of sight once installed.

In our opinion a shortshifter is a must on any (older) BMW. The original shifter has quite some slop in it, especially when all the bushings are worn out! When driving and cornering hard it can be tricky to find the right gear and there's no reverse lockout. Even when all shifter components are as new, the transmission has slop in it by default and a relatively weak centering spring.

Features

• Shorter throw. Up to 35% reduction in throw. The shifter has an adjustable throw with 3 different settings. Shifts will feel more satisfying with a distinct "click" sound when going into gear.
  
• Reverse lockout. It's a common problem when you're driving hard on track, that the shifter will pass the 1st or 2nd gear port and goes on too far to the left. The reverse lockout prevents you from accidentally going into the reverse port. It's impossible to shift into reverse without pulling up the collar first.
• Self centering spring. A strong self centering springs always keeps the shifter dead center while cornering hard. No more shifter lean in corners.
• Adjustable limiter pins. Prevent excess sideways movement using the limiter pins. Increase or decrease side to side play, it's up to you.
• Taller handle. A taller shifter allows you to shift quicker, due to less hand to shifter movement. Additionally this allows you to focus on the track more, rather than having to look down.
• CNC-milled. Every single part (including the base) on this shifter is CNC-milled out of aircraft-grade 7075-T6 Aluminium for absolutely zero flex. Precision machined parts allow for the highest quality and perfect functionality at all times. Anodized in a stunning black satin for appearance and durability. 
• Plug & Play install kit. We also offer a install kit. This will allow you to install the shifter without having to do any drilling on the chassis, making the install completely reversible. Also made out of 7075-T6 Aluminium for maximum strength and low additional weight.
